In honor of California wine month, The Young Winos and DineLA are proud to present a special blind tasting event at Vendome, Studio City, to be held the evening of Wednesday, October 1st. This event comes on the heels of the annual wine & dineLA event, currently ongoing through September 21st, during which renowned chefs from over forty top LA area restaurants are offering up special wine pairing menus designed to highlight California grapes (more info at DineLA's website).
The blind tasting lineup will include nine anonymous wines -- four whites, a rosé, and four reds -- each with five multiple-choice options. Points will be tallied as the event progresses, and the Wino who guesses the most bottles correctly will win a dinner for two at Social, valued at $200, donated by wine & dineLA!
The event costs $20 per person, and is open only to members of The Young Winos. Space is limited to 25 Winos, so act fast!
The Young Winos of LA is a gathering of Angelenos, ostensibly aged 30-and-under, who meet once a week to drink and discuss wine. The group was started in the spring of 2005 as an unofficial student organization at Ithaca College, and then migrated to LA when its founder moved there that summer. Now in its third year, the group continues to grow and evolve as new members come and go, new regions and grape varieties are analyzed and tasted, and new levels of drunken enlightenment are achieved.
